Legermuseum (Army Museum)

The Legermuseum (Army Museum) owns a broad collection of military objects, books and articles, image material and descriptions. It intends to make these objects available through the Collectie Informatiecentrum (CIC) (Collection Information Centre), the Legermuseum's knowledge site.

The museum intends to share its knowledge through the existing reference material: the 1861/1862 Militair woordenboek (Military dictionary) by Landolt on weaponry and military science, the Glossarium Armorum (a pictorial encyclopaedia with legends on weapons of defence), and a large thesaurus which emerged form collection registration activities. Together with relevant parts form WordNet, and with use of advanced structure mining techniques, these structures are put togehter in a coherent reference network (in progress).

The above link show a digitized version of the Landolt dictionary. Digitizing was done in cooperation with the Digital Library of Dutch Literature (DBNL).
